Andrea is the Director of Annette’s Preschool, and brings several decades of experience as a child development specialist, advocate and researcher with toddlers and young families. In her former role as Director of Research and Education at Gesell Institute, Andrea developed training programs for parents and teachers and oversaw a nationwide study which documented the ages and stages of child development in 3-6 year old children.
Andrea has coordinated multiple community based projects in Chicago and Boston focused on preventive intervention with preschool children at risk for developmental delay. She believes that early childhood educators can be especially effective at promoting early home/school connections by supporting families and using meaningful curriculum in the classroom. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wellesley College and a Masters of Arts in Child Development from Tufts University. Andrea is a Master Instructor with Northern Lights, is a community organizer, a textile artist, and an advocate for children’s environmental health and safety. Andrea enjoys playing the flute, hiking with the family dog, Aspen, and is the ringleader for family games of Apples to Apples with her husband, Andy and their two children, Bennett and Will.


Maeghan is the Assistant Director of Annette's Preschool and is passionate about early education and especially emergent curriculum. Maeghan holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont and has more than a decade of experience teaching children birth to five. She lives in Monkton with her husband and young son.


Cheryl is the Office Manager at Annette's Preschool. Cheryl is returning to Vermont  after a number of years working with children K-5 in community-based educational programs.  Cheryl has a degree in fine arts and experience developing and organizing school age after school and summer programs. 


Kate graduated college from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in Western MA in 2011 and moved to Boston where she spent several years working with toddlers and preschoolers and studying early childhood education which is where she has found her passion.  Kate enjoys the arts through crocheting and likes to stay active by hiking and doing spin classes as well as spending time with her niece and nephew, Owen and Olivia.  


Raven has been working with children for a decade, but specifically with preschoolers for about 4 years. She loves the reciprocal relationship that is built through the care taking, teaching and learning alongside young children. Raven graduated from SUNY-New Paltz in 2017 and has a teaching license with endorsements in both early childhood education and elementary education as well. Outside of the classroom, Raven likes to make things—a good soup, handmade cards, candles and non-toxic options for the home. She has been practicing yoga regularly for about 8 years and she teaches yoga to children and adults. Mindfulness is a key practice for her and she finds value in sharing it with children. Raven also enjoys hiking, swimming, and playing with her pet rabbit, Phoenix. 


Tessa has 5 years of experience working with children 0-12, and is passionate about the ages from Birth to Three.  Tessa completed the Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program and is working on finishing her Associate's degree in Early Childhood.  Tessa enjoys hiking with her dog Tabor, as well as fishing and watching sports.  Tessa is a hands on teacher and enjoys exploring lots of sensory activities and allowing children take the lead through their interests! 


Lindsay has been a member of the Annette's Preschool staff since the summer of 2002. In that time, Lindsay has worked with the Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and School Age Programs. Lindsay received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2005. Lindsay lives in Essex Jct. with her husband, Matthew and daughter, Alexis.


Meaghan graduated from Skidmore College in May 2018 with a major in Environmental Studies and a minor in Education Studies. In the past, she has worked with children of many different ages including preschoolers! During the summer of 2017 she was fortunate enough to intern at Islandwood Outdoor Education Center, where she taught children about Environmental Education. Additionally, she has extensive experience working at Skidmore College’s Greenburg Childcare Center, and as a nanny.  In her free time, Meaghan loves to spend her time in nature (no surprise there!) hiking, camping and kayaking.  Her favorite book is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss and she is looking forward to joining the Toucan classroom to join in lots of natural learning, discovery and fun!  


Ms. Jackie received her B.A. in Elementary Studies and a B.Ed from Bishop’s University (Quebec) in 2006. She has been working and volunteering with children of various ages since graduating--in Quebec, South Korea, Seattle, and most recently Vermont. Ms. Jackie and her family moved to Hinesburg in 2016 and have fallen in love with the community. Ms. Jackie enjoys hiking, knitting, and reading books with her two boys, Michael (4) and Liam (2). She looks forward to working with the Elephant’s class this year!


Gwen is a native of New York with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College in NYC. She loves being able to work in all of our classrooms helping out, as well as spending time with her husband and pets in her new home state of Vermont!


Katie brings a warm smile, a welcome lap and an inquiry-based approach that truly supports learning in our toddler class.  Katie holds a Bachelor's degree in English from St. Michael's College,  with a concentration in Education.  She has taught preschoolers in Ireland and has also worked as a nanny in addition to her professional experience in retail. Katie paints kindness rocks in her spare time and gives them away to brighten her community. 


Rhonda has been working at Annette's for five years now in the Infant/Toddler Program! Prior to her employment here, Rhonda worked at the Play & Learn Center in Lancaster, New Hampshire for five years where she helped with ages from 6 weeks to 8 years! During this time, Rhonda enrolled in two lengthy courses on Infant & Toddler Development and Health, Safety, and Nutrition. Rhonda's expertise and experience have been such a valuable asset to our Birth to Three program where she has connected with each and every child. Rhonda lives in Bristol with her daughter, April.


Angela is passionate about eco-healthy living, and supporting early language development in infants and toddlers. Angela has taught at Annette’s Preschool for over 14 years and holds her CDA, which is a nationally recognized credential for Early Childhood Educators. Angela will complete her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2016. Angela lives in Bristol with her 3 children.


Joanna grew up in Michigan where she earned her BA in Education from Saginaw Valley State University, and holds a VT Teaching License with an Early Education Endorsement.  She earned her MA in curriculum and instruction at Lake Superior State University.  Joanna loves to embed sign language in her daily teaching and conversations with children and adults!  She lived in Maine and Alaska before coming to Vermont with her husband, young son and family dog!  Joanna enjoys running in the (very!) early morning, is training for a marathon and enjoys crochet and sewing. 


Maria received her Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in 2005 and holds a Vermont State Teaching License and Early Education Endorsement. Maria works with our preschool program and oversees our Health and Safety and Emergency Response Planning initiatives. She is passionate about literacy development and leads Annette's community collaboration by installing regular Storywalks on trails in our town. Maria lives in Huntington with her husband, daughter and dog, Cabella.


Ms. Linda West has 7 years experience working with young children in a center-based early childhood program. She has completed a variety of early childhood coursework and is CPR and First-Aid certified. Linda lives in Hinesburg with her family and three year old daughter. She finds the most rewarding part of being a teacher seeing children apply new learning and the excitement on their face when they do! Ms. Linda is looking forward to meeting all of you and working with your children.
